This helps to give us a sense of how much development might be realistically anticipated over the timeframe of a plan, as well as appropriate types and intensities.

Building Healthy Communities in South Kern County

A few weeks ago I traveled to South Kern County, CA, to wrap up a project for three rural communities outside of Bakersfield. While we’ve completed over two dozen urban design plans for small towns and rural communities in California, “Improving Safety and Mobility in South Kern County” was unique in many ways, and provided a lot of insight into how communities with limited resources might work to successfully overcome obstacles.
